Jirai Kei- Ryousangata fashion study
Ryousangata/量産型/mass-produced style and Jirai kei/地雷系/Landmine style are both Japanese fashion styles that have been dominating Japanese markets since 2020. Most brands, such as Liz Lisa, Ma*rs, and Rojita, have all ridden the Jirai-Ryousangata wave. However, the difference between the two styles is more than just the coordinate colors.
The Jirai kei style is usually known for coordinates centered around pink-black, red-black, or black-white coordinates. The common factor is that black is an accent color used in the skirt, accessories, or accent colors within the blouse or setup. Take, for example, one of the pieces within Liz Liza's current winter collection: black is used only as an accent color. The heart buttons on the sweater, the lace, the bows on the shirt, and the hair accessories are all black to match the skirt.
Changing only the primary color for a coord allows for easier coordinate matching, unlike Ryousangata, which has more variation between coordinates. Ryousangata usually keeps coordinates with lighter colors, such as white with either pink, blue, or black once again.
The difference between Ryousangata and Jirai Kei's black and white coordinates is the detailing and styling of the outfits and any patterns within the fabric. Often, fabrics with patterns that are stripes, plaid, or similar academic aesthetics lean towards Ryousangata, while outfits that are void of patterns or have patches that feature crosses are Jirai Kei designs. The type of metal used for the decorations of the piece also drastically affects the appearance of the design's aesthetic. (Brands like Dear My Love will tag most pieces as both Jirai and Ryousangata)
